Recap
Pastor Travis Hearn opened the service with a prayer for God to bring a radical change to the congregation. He began by reading from Luke 24:46-47, highlighting the phrase 'a radical change of thought and life,' emphasizing that a genuine encounter with the Holy Spirit fundamentally transforms how we think and live. He declared that modern Christianity often feels lethargic and comfortable, contrasting it with the radical call of Jesus. The sermon, titled 'Do Something Radical,' was a passionate call to move beyond a mediocre, half-hearted faith. Pastor Travis outlined four radical actions: first, to truly 'follow me' as Jesus commanded, which means imitating Christ and dying to self daily. Second, to 'seek him first' in all areas, including our finances, by honoring God with our first fruits and tithes, trusting Him as our true provider. Third, to 'become a fisher of men,' using our everyday platforms—jobs, neighborhoods, relationships—to share the love of Jesus with others. Finally, he urged the church to 'be bold and unashamed' of the Gospel in a culture that often silences Christian witness. He closed by reminding everyone that they are the light of the world, called to shine for Jesus from their first step of faith to their last, and gave an invitation for salvation.
