Recap
Guest Speaker Scott Williams opened with energetic greetings and a lighthearted discussion about navigation apps, using them as a metaphor for spiritual guidance. He contrasted the enemy's destructive path with the life-giving way of Jesus, framing the message around the single verse John 10:10. Pastor Scott taught that the enemy, like a bad GPS, seeks to lead us to unwanted destinations through a three-part strategy: to steal what belongs to us, to kill our faith, and to destroy our lives. He illustrated life using an hourglass, representing the past, the present, and future potential, emphasizing that our choices in the 'present' moment are critical. Williams shared vulnerably from his own experience with divorce to highlight that even when we do everything right, the enemy attacks, but we must not become an 'accessory' to his crimes by allowing his whispers to influence us. He warned that the enemy aims to chip away at our beliefs, create division, and blur moral lines, especially in areas like relationships, identity, and politics. The sermon culminated in the powerful contrast of the verse: while the thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy, Jesus comes to give abundant life. Pastor Scott called the congregation to reject being an accessory to the enemy's work, to hold fast to God's truth about their identity, and to surrender fully to Christ for the life only He can provide, leading to a prayer of commitment and salvation.
